The Salem Athenæum relies upon membership dues and donations to sustain the library and collections, educational programming, and care of the historic building and grounds. Gifts of new books, magazine and newspaper subscriptions, and used books are gratefully accepted. All items will be considered for the collections. Volumes which are not accessioned will be sold to fund collections care and development. Please no encyclopedia sets. An annual book sale is normally held in the autumn; however, donations are accepted all year during open hours.
