Join us to celebrate the 175th anniversary of the Salem Athenaeum’s most famous author’s most famous book.
We will celebrate with visual art, poetry, as well as a reading of short passages from the novel by Nathaniel Hawthorne that scandalized Salem; a work that has continued to fascinate and inspire us for generations. Opening remarks by Peter Walker, Professor of English at Salem State University.
