Salem Sons of Italy Veturia Romana Lodge will host an author event at the Salem Athenæum on Sunday, April 26 with novelist Carmela Cattuti.

Written as an homage to her great-aunt, Ms. Cattuti’s novel Between the Cracks, recounts the story of how one woman survived the earthquake and eruption of Mt. Etna and bravely left Sicily to start a new life in America– much like our ancestors. Carmela will talk about her book and give a slide presentation.
