Autumn Foraging: Roots, Berries, Nuts, and More, Connecting with Local Plants

Get out of Salem and learn about the useful plants all around us while walking in the fields of the Wenham Food Project Farm with an expert forager! There is still plenty of food and medicine that can be foraged in fall, including roots, berries, and nuts. Foraging is an ancient tradition that brings you into close, intimate connection with the foods you eat and everyday plant medicine. We will discuss resources, safety, and identification. If you are interested in ways to take better care of your health naturally and sustainably, this is a walk you won’t want to miss! Bring a notebook, camera/phone, and a friend. A handout is included.

Iris Weaver is a bioregional herbalist and foraging instructor who has foraged and wildcrafted in Eastern Massachusetts for 40 years.

Please dress appropriately for the weather. Sturdy shoes are recommended.
