Join fellow Athenaeum members for a special guided tour by Museum of Printing president and print industry scholar, Frank Romano.

One of only three museums in the United States dedicated to preserving the history of graphic arts and printing craftsmanship, the Museum of Printing hosts the largest collection of typographic technology and ephemera in the world. Alongside its printed collections, the Museum contains hundreds of antique printing, typesetting, and bindery machines that document the evolution of this technology during the last 200 years.

Frank Romano has spent more than 60 years in the printing industry. He founded the publication TypeWorld, and has been the editor for many editions of an indispensable industry tool: Pocket Pal: The Handy Book of Graphic Arts Production. He was a professor at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) and Research Professor from Industry at California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly). He has authored more than 60 books on topics related to the printing industry including most recently his trilogy: History of the Linotype Company, History of the Phototypesetting Era, and History of Desktop Publishing.
