Special Outing for Athenaeum Members
Join us for a crisp Fall walk in the woods with Essex County Greenbelt. Mary Ellen Kelly, an educator-naturalist, will point out interesting aspects of the ecology of the Greenbelt’s Echo and Elizabeth How Reservation in Ipswich, answer questions about the habitat, and present a brief history on Elizabeth How, hanged on suspicion of witchcraft in 1692. The tour will include land contained in the 17th-century How homestead.
Carpooling is encouraged due to parking limitations at the trail head.
Please dress appropriately for the weather. Sturdy shoes are recommended.
