Storytelling: The Longest Day of the Year

Come hear a sizzling set of true stories on the eve of Summer Solstice. Cool off in the shady Athenaeum garden with local friends and neighbors talking about their longest days.

Storytellers include: Michael Corley, Anne Driscoll, The Rev. Nathan Ives, Kevin Perrin, and Gary Sciola.

Michael Corley lives and works in Salem. With a passion for civic engagement, learning and community involvement, you can often find Michael door knocking across Salem neighborhoods, volunteering with different organizations or finding ways to give back to his alma mater Salem State.

Kevin Perrin has returned to Gloucester after a long military career. He facilitates the Veterans Writing Group for the Gloucester Writers Center and attends another GWC writing group as a member. In retirement, he spends his time gardening, hiking, reading, and writing. He writes poetry, memoir, and has taken a recent interest in storytelling.

Gary Sciola was born and raised in Beverly. He is the tenth of eleven children, and aside from a brief stint in the Army, has been working in manufacturing for most of his adult life.

(The front door of the building will be locked at 6:00 pm.)
Please bring a folding lawn chair if you have one.
In case of rain, the salon will be indoors.
