In rural 1960’s Italy, a boy climbs up a tree and vows never to come down. From the trees, he watches as his family fractures, his siblings come together and drift apart, and the town they live in become enchanted and inspired by his strange life and magical art. Loosely adapted from Italo Calvino’s whimsical 1957 novella, THE PAINTER IN THE TREES is a world-premiere one-act play about the pull of family, the beauty of nature, and the power of imagination. Written and directed by Peter Sampieri.
The performance will begin promptly at 7:00 pm and runs for 75 minutes. Enter the Garden through the gate on Bott’s Court and please bring your own chairs or blankets.
Tickets are Cash at the Door.
